This thesis is exploring an ethnographic field determined by public innovation as a particular response to local, societal and global problems. These problems are characterized by a significant threat to the sustainability of the Danish welfare sector. At the same time I argue in the introduction of the thesis that public service systems are not fulfilling thier potential in terms of creating the outcomes that they could and even in some areas are characterized by service experiences that could become a risk for the legitimacy of the public sectoer.
